While in the Open Studio, Akagawa will continue his work on Faketure (fake nature), which explores our odd relationship with nature. He regards "the honeycomb form as magnifying the unnatural and natural ways of making modular structure in architecture. We, like bees, organize our residences along a pre determined pattern." Akagawa and his assistants will make hexagonal boxes out of ceiling tiles from his home and attach them to the ceiling of the studio to form honeycombs, and also install some of the drop ceiling metal grid structure that will allow a framework for any impromptu creative events to occur.
