Takes place in room C440.

Have you ever wondered what kinds of open source projects are currently being worked on in and around Vancouver and by whom? Steven Brown has and he's graciously offered to share his findings with us at VanDev at our upcoming meeting in August. We'll also be doing our signature round-robin introductions following the presentation and have plenty of time for networking and discussing OSS in the Vancouver region following the presentation. Last but not least, O'Reilly has kindly supplied us with a few books to raffle off as door prizes! Come join us and be sure to bring your business cards and some stories of your own to share with the group.

About the presentation:

Steven's discussion will center around conversations he's held with a few contributors to the open source software community from around the Vancouver area. The discussion will cover some interesting points including: how people first got into the open source arena, issues that arise when working within the open source community, tools that are being used, and more.

Come join VanDev this August to listen to Steven and discuss ideas regarding how we can encourage OSS development and improve the OSS community in Vancouver.
