One World: A Spectacular Global Celebration, benefit for Career Transitions For Dancers October 23, 2006

On Monday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m. at City Center in NY, there is a gala performance to benefit Career Transitions For Dancers, a nonprofit organization that, as its name implies, helps to train dancers for post-dance careers and helps them to transition into those careers. It's a great organization, and the performance sounds like it will be spectacular. The theme is a global celebration of dance and will feature many diverse companies, such as Pilar Rioja, the flamenco dancer, Dance China, Sachiyo Ito, ABT (I've heard it will likely be Jose and Paloma performing Grin ), and Mr. Wiggles, amongst many more. The gala will honor Chita Rivera and the Nureyev Foundation, and there will be appearances by Rosie O'Donnell, Sutton Foster, and James Earl Jones. Performance only tickets range from $45 to $125, and dinner tickets are $600 to $1000.
