Local Nonprofit Celebrates CNN Hero Award at Annual Event

Jackson Kaguri, Founder and Executive Director of the Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, has recently been selected a 2012 CNN Hero. On September 22nd we will find out whether he is included in the Top 10.

Jackson asks you to “Think about your child, grand child, nephew, niece, or any child in your life. It takes so little to change the lives of orphans in rural Uganda. Anyone can make a difference. You can take the lead.” The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, located right in East Lansing, is working on behalf of HIV/AIDS orphans in rural Uganda to end poverty through a holistic approach to development.
On October 5th, we invite you to attend our annual event, One-by-One.

Join in the celebration of this year’s accomplishments at Dublin Square in East Lansing, Michigan. There will be an exclusive VIP event from 6-7pm featuring Country Manager Ms. Jennifer Nantale who will be visiting from Uganda. You will also get to toast and mingle with Jackson, the Board of Directors, and other loyal supporters.

Doors will open for the One-by-One celebration at 7pm. This main event includes a silent auction. Hors d’oeuvres will be served all night, and guests will each receive two free drink tickets.

VIP Tickets are $125 each for the 6-10pm event. VIP ticket holders will enjoy FREE tapas and drinks all night. Tickets for the One-by-One event are $50 each. Purchase your tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/257989
