One Big Community Festival September 11, 2010

ONE BIG COMMUNITY FESTIVAL FREE AND OPEN TO EVERYONE SO BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY FOR A FUN DAY OUT.


On September 11 2010 the NBSP Portswood community group will bring Portswood alive with the first One Big Community Charity Festival. This will be held in Portswood recreation ground, Upper Grosvenor Road SO17 1WZ between 11am to 5pm.


The event is aimed at bringing together the different communities and cultures of Portswood and the surrounding areas together for a day of fun-packed activities and excitement for the whole family to enjoy. This promises to be an amazing festival consisting of live performances, interactive workshops, music, and much more.


The One Big community festival is free to everyone, with fantastic local bands. All styles of dancing acts and mouth-watering food plus a wide range of family activities performing on the main stage.


Yi Quin Lion Dancing & Martial Art Club, Forward Movin Freereason, Mellissa & more, The Skore Djembabes, Every S1ng, The Shimmering Bees, Southampton Ukuele Steel Band, Hand to Mouth Theatre, Street Dancing, dance studio Indian Dancing and much more around the arena, including a Bouncy Castle, Rodeo Bull, Inflatable football pitch, entertainer, stilt walkers, jugglers & walkabout entertainers, pet corner, hair braiding, face painting and henna tattooing. Pamper corner relax and unwind, Interactive drumming art & craft workshops for the whole family. Mini funfair, Licensed Bar, The Art house Saints in the community, Zorbing, Dholis drumming, bicycle maintenance stand, bring your bike along. Shell painting, peace stone painting and collage workshop, raffle with fantastic prizes. Food courts offering a selection of food from different cultures. Also in attendance: Special guest Peppa Pig for the kids, Police and fire services display, Local sport clubs to promote activities, Statutory and voluntary services from within Southampton.
