On Going Small: The Secret to Good Writing April 4, 2009

Finding a great story is one thing; writing it is another. In this class we will study different ways to focus in on a story to get it started. We will study how the masters do it and through a series of exercises, practice doing it ourselves. By the end of this day, students who have done the work will have a definite technique for finding the seeds within stories, clarifying good ideas, capturing power, enhancing emotional impact, and getting it all down on the page in exhilaratingly clean detail. Bring notebooks and pens and a willingness to participate in class.
