OMSI Film Festival May 4, 2010

For eight weeks, the 2010 OMSI Film Festival brings together 21 remarkable, thought-provoking motion pictures designed to celebrate the IMAX experience. From the barren Martian surface to the deepest reaches of Earth's oceans, from the age of dinosaurs to the exploration of space, audiences will journey to places of wonder and imagination as the giant five-story screen of the OMNIMAX Dome Theater plays host to some of the world's most memorable IMAX films.

Featured at this year's Festival are the new IMAX blockbuster Hubble and the international hit Journey to Mecca. Willamette Week calls Hubble's imagery "stunning" in noting that "the vastness of space seems the perfect subject to fill the OMNIMAX’s gigantic screen..."

Having played to sold-out crowds during a limited OMSI run last November, Journey to Mecca is a vastly different film, notable as much for its message of tolerance as its spectacular shots of desert landscapes and amazing IMAX footage of the Muslim Hajj.
