What better way to enjoy the fun and sun of summer than a little Christmas shopping? The 32nd annual Old Mission Montessori School (OMMS) Christmas in July festival boasts the handiwork of 175 artisan booths. Top that off with a variety of foods, local talent, and a spectacular kids’ zone, and you have a community event that draws artists, families, and visitors from across southern California and beyond.

Carefully selected artisans dot the grounds of the historic Mission San Luis Rey – selling everything from seasonal décor to handmade jewelry to fine art. In addition to arts and crafts, the event offers a farmers’ market full of fresh flowers and locally grown fruits and vegetables; the popular Sister Gladys’ rummage sale; and homemade baked goods, ethnic foods, as well as traditional festival favorites such as snow cones and hotdogs. Kids will love the face painting and old-fashioned carnival games with prizes. Local bands, dancers, and karate studios grace the entertainment stage throughout the weekend.

This year, the festivities will take place on Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th.
