Omaha Rollergirls February 18, 2012

The Omaha Rollergirls are Omaha’s premier all-female flat-track roller derby league. They are comprised of Omaha’s swiftest and strongest ladies. Buff and bruised, these women promise to deliver a powerful punch of both sport and spectacle. All the falls and spills are the real deal, the only things fixed on the rink are the garter belts and pin curls.

All home games will be a double header format featuring both Omaha Rollergirls teams – Omaha AAA and Omaha All Stars. That means you will get two games in one night to ensure you get plenty of hard hitting action!

The league was founded in January 2006 and after several months of grassroots recruiting; they began practicing and training in May 2006. The girls began their first season just a few short months later which changed them from friends to foes and put them up against one another. This formed Omaha’s first two teams – the Low Down Lucy’s and Victoria’s Secret Service.

The following years the league took the best of these teams and began traveling and playing other cities to test their skills which formed the Omaha Rollergirl All Stars. In November 2008, the Omaha Rollergirls proudly became a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, an exclusive membership that consists of the best flat track derby leagues out there. From there the league has continued to grow with the addition of a second travel team.
