Olympic Torch relay July 6, 2012

The Olympic Torch runners will be bringing the torch right into Oaklands Park, and will run straight past the museum - all filmed live by the BBC. It will be a fantastic opportunity to see the torch close up, and to have some fun!
The torch will arrive at just after 7am, but activities for all the family will go on until 12 noon. Watch the Scouts’ It’s A Knock Out; have a go with BBC Essex at weather forecasting; have a go on an inflatable, and don’t forget the bacon butty breakfast!
There will be no public parking in Oaklands Park that morning; however, all Short Stay City Council carparks are free that day; the nearest is George Street carpark, off Moulsham Street.
