The Olivette Community and Cultural Events Committee, in conjunction with Olivette in Bloom, present the third biennial Olivette House and Garden Tour, from noon to 4 p.m., June 18. Proceeds from the tour benefit both the Historic Archives of Olivette and Olivette in Bloom, a nonprofit organization designed to promote the natural beauty of Olivette by designing, planting, and maintaining garden sites in selected public grounds.
The self-guided tour starts at Stacy Park where attendees will pick up a map locating each stop along the route. Volunteers will be on duty at each home to answer questions. Plenty of parking is available at each location.
Featuring seven unique homes and gardens, the tour provides an opportunity to experience the metamorphosis of some of the area’s most prestigious neighborhoods. Tour includes two historically significant homes dating from as early as 1885, as well as recently constructed and mid-century homes in a variety of noteworthy styles.
The tour begins at Stacy Park, located just south of Olive Boulevard on Old Bonhomme Road. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 by calling 314-991-1249 or the day of the tour at Stacy Park for $15. The tour takes place rain or shine. For more information contact Marilyn Merritt at 314-989-0445.
