Old Time Relijun's fervent musical fits combine Americana with experimental cacophony, while guitarist/vocalist Arrington de Dionyso's filtered, eerie vocals blare like a backwoods Pentecostal daughter shrieking in tongues. Japan's Green Milk from the Planet Orange aggressively champion progressive rock, and while their penchant for stoney atmospheric psych does look back a few decades, the power trio's leaner recent output veers far closer to screamy hardcore and early Sonic Youth ? revealing jazz-like chops and a furious kinetic energy.
