Old Saybrook High School on the CT Shoreline Proudly Presents "South Pacific"

Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB.com) March 13, 2009 -- The Old Saybrook High School Music Department will present the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical comedy, "South Pacific" on Thursday, April 2, Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There is also a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday, April 4. Tickets for the show are $10 and are available at Harbor Books on Main Street, Old Saybrook, (Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.) or by calling 860-662-0970.

"South Pacific" is a wonderful show for the whole family and includes such classic Broadway hits as "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-a My Hair," and "There Ain't Nothin' Like a Dame."

The talented cast of 50 high-school students is directed by Lenore Shapiro, featuring choreography by Tara Winch, the high school's principal. High school choral instructor, Susan Clarke, provides vocal direction, and a 20-piece orchestra will be conducted by Old Saybrook Middle School band director, Mark Slater.

This year's show received a special treat during rehearsals when David Pittsinger, who currently plays the lead role of "Emile" in South Pacific on Broadway, coached the high schoolers about their upcoming performance.
