Ohlone Wind Orchestra announces its Fall Concert

The Ohlone Wind Orchestra, California's Premier Wind Orchestra, announces its Fall Concert on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 2:00 pm at the Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts in Fremont, CA.

California's Premier Wind Orchestra presents a concert of show tunes and concert pieces.

Show tunes include "John Williams: Four Symphonic Themes," John Krance's "Broadway Curtain Time," and Robert W. Smith's arrangement of John Williams' "Harry Potter Symphonic Suite."

Concert pieces include Robert W. Smith's "The Quest," the first movement from Smith's Symphony #3 "Don Quixote," Percy Grainger's "Molly on the Shore," Wagner's "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral,"

Plus Robert Jager's "Concerto for Percussion and Band," featuring Poh Soon Teng, soloist.

The Ohlone Wind Orchestra (OWO), "California's Premier Wind Orchestra," directed by Tony Clements, is a leading professional quality US wind ensemble. The band is comprised of 50 woodwind, brass and percussion players. The performs an eclectic blend of music, ranging from Bach to Broadway and beyond.

$15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors, and children.
