Following the band’s insane Halloween show here last year, they’re back with more axe antics on September 10. Screaming Females’ lead singer and guitarist Marisa Pasternoster has been described by J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, in a recent Guardian interview, as one of his top 5 living guitar players. In this special show, they appear as part of Islington Mill’s ongoing series of ‘OFF with THEIR HEADS’ parties. Pitchfork says: “Punk has traditionally prized attitude over abilities, but Screaming Females have both: Rather than muzzle their ferocity, the band's tight, tense dynamic amplifies [their] fuck-off stridency.”
