Off to Juilliard: a benefit concert for Laura Rubinstein-Salzedo July 7, 2012

Executive Director of The Albany Consort and regular member Laura Rubinstein-Salzedo is leaving the Bay Area for a couple of years to attend the Juilliard School in New York. This concert is a benefit to raise funds for graduate studies and will feature her wonderful teacher and well-known Bay Area violinist Elizabeth Blumenstock. Other musicians: Jonathan Salzedo (harpsichord) and Marion Rubinstein (harpsichord/organ), Vijay Chalasani (viola) and Gretchen Claassen (cello)

Music will include some hefty solo Bach, sonatas by Biber and Leclair, and Bach's double harpsichord concerto in C. Yes, we will have two genuine acoustic harpsichords for this concert, our trusty French double that you have seen on stage with us countless times, and a new acquisition, a lovely Italian style instrument by Owen Daly.
