ODC Theater Artist in Residence Katie Faulkner joins Chris Schlichting, touring from the Twin Cities, for an evening of dance exploring family, personal relationships, absence and fantasy.

Katie Faulkner / little seismic dance will premiere two new works and remount "The Road Ahead," last year's hit quartet created for the first annual ODC/Litquake collaboration set to text by bestselling author, Tess Uriza Holthe. Faulkner's poetic, concise and achingly beautiful choreography is coupled with Chris Schlichting's playful movement which speaks in the gestures of memory. A choreographic fantasy built and deconstructed from 1970s Americana, love things slips through streams of vernacular and formal dance, Top 40 songs, treasured objects and memories of an awkward and clumsy childhood.

"A master at abstracting everyday gestures into tender, neurotic things of beauty."
- Bonner Odell, SF Weekly for Katie Faulkner

"full of hilarious, touching and intriguing choreography....delivered with a singular virtuosity."
