1 of 4 shows in Stanford Summer Theater's 2007 Season, "Africa Onstage." Featuring an Afro-jazz orchestra and stunning visuals, Oda Oak Oracle is one of only two English-language plays by Ethiopia's foremost poet and playwright Tsegaye Gabre-Medhin. Incorporating Greek myths, legends from Nubia (Egypt and Sudan), teachings from the Old and New Testaments and from the Q’ran, Oda Oak Oracle opens a space for new beginnings based on a shared ancestry.

Tickets are $20 reserved online (highly recommended) or "pay what you like" at the door.

Thursday through Saturday August 16–18 at 8:00 pm, and Sunday August 19 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm in the Prosser Studio Theater, above the Pigott Theater, on the Stanford campus. Oda Oak Oracle will play at the Eastside Arts Alliance in east Oakland Thursday and Friday, August 23-24 at 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday August 25-26 at the Hall of the Mekaneselam Ethiopian Orthodox Church in west Oakland.
