OC Delegation to Caracas, Venezuela Meeting. April 19, 2005

This summer the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) will take place in Caracas, Venezuela. This is an anti-imperialism gathering of, often more than, ten thousand youth from countries around the world who are part of and support ongoing struggles for national liberation, working class resistance, struggles by peasants and farmers for land, women's rights, movements by oppressed nationalities and other social struggles.
The 16th WFYS in Venezuela provides an opportunity to extend our solidarity to the youth and people of Venezuela, who have recently defeated US backed attempts to overthrow its democratically elected president Hugo Chavez through massive mobilizations of workers and farmers.
We are appealing to all those fighting to defend their unions against police brutality, for the woman's right to chose, for immigrants rights, fair housing, imperialist wars and other social rights to be a part of this effort.
