Every Sunday, the Harmony Center, a small but growing spiritual center in Oakland, holds a ceremony in which those who attend learn about, experience and share harmony and the joy and peace that it brings.

Spiritual Orientation
The Harmony Center has three guiding principles: (1) "We are each the embodiment of Spirit, filled with divine light." (2) "Our expectations create our experience of life." (3) "In community, we help each other shine at our brightest." These principles are a distillation of many religious traditions, including Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and what are sometimes referred to as New Thought and Ancient Wisdom.

Programs
Weekly Celebrations are held every Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon at 200 Grand Ave. at Harrison St. in Oakland at the Oakland Veterans Hall in a beautiful wood-paneled room that looks out onto Lake Merritt. The celebrations include live music by the Joyful Harmony Band, weekly talks on spiritual topics by Harmony Center Minister Daniel Neumayer and occasional guests, opportunities to share thoughts and feelings in response to the weekly talks, and a social time after the celebrations with organic fruits and vegetables and other tasty treats.

Movie Nights are held twice monthly at the Neumayer's home, which has a breathtaking panoramic view of the Bay Area. Pizza and other goodies are served, and followed with a movie chosen for its artistic, thematic and entertainment merit. Those who wish to can join a lively conversation that is held after the film is shown. For many, movie nights bring new insights into the movies and to life itself, not to mention a fun and community-building time.
