NYPD Three Wheel Scooter May 1, 2010

The NYPD started to use the three wheel Cushman Scooters in the mid-1970s. It is considered an extension of a Patrol Officer's foot post. Although the scooter is able to cover greater distance in a timely manner -- the scooter operator is able to have a "one-on-one" interaction with the community.
