For the past 41 years, the NYCHA Talent Shows have been delighting audiences and launching the careers of up-and-coming performers who reside in public housing. Auditions of over one hundred performers are held in each borough. This year's theme, "Remember the Time," spans the decades with music and dance from the 1960s to the present. The Talent Competition and Show provides a professional venue for NYCHA Residents to showcase their talents in dance, music, drama and spoken word. The acts are judged by a professional panel in the following age groups: children, teens, adults and seniors. All of the winners receive a trophy and a special prize related to their talent such as dance classes, vocal lessons and theater training. The NYCHA Youth Chorus and Senior Choir will perform as guest artists along with previous talent show winners and professional performing artists.
