Nutcracker Suite Electronique December 18, 2008

For the first time in it’s 19 year history, Highways Performance Space in collaboration with Earthwalk Dance Company and Santa Monica Contemporary Ballet will present The Nutcracker Suite Electronique Thursday, December 18th, through Sunday, December 21st. The performances Thursday through Saturday will begin at 8:00pm with a Sunday Matinee performance beginning at 2:00pm. Acclaimed choreographers James Keene, Artistic Director of Earthwalk Dance Company and Honey Almazar, Co-Director of Santa Monica Contemporary Ballet have joined forces to bring L.A. audiences a very different spin on this must see holiday classic. James Keene has taken the traditional story and placed it in a Nightclub entitled “Nutcracker”. The opening night of the club features all your favorite characters with spirited dancing and drama, telling the traditional story in a non-traditional way. The Nutcracker Suite Electronique, is beautifully arranged by Seattle composer Brete and is sure to please.
