The Association of British Paediatric Nurses is re-launching its Nurse Education Group (NEG) in the School of Nursing.

They chose Salford as the venue because of the excellent reputation of the Child Nursing team and the University's excellent location on the transport network.

The key note address will be given by Professor Judith Ellis, Director of Nursing, Education and Workforce at Great Ormond Street Hospital on the subject of "Clinical partnerships learning for careers in children's nursing". The presentation will be followed by a world café style session in which delegates will help to form plans for the future of the Nurse Education Group. Clinical nurses, academics and students have been invited to this "festival of ideas" on ways to work together to improve education for children's nurses with the aim of improving nursing care for children and families.

For over 70 years the ABPN has provided government departments and leading children's charities such as Action for Sick Children with vital advice and guidance. The Association members are all children's nurses.

The Nurse Education Group is a sub group of the ABPN which seeks to bring together all those involved in promoting the education of children's nurses with a view to improving care for children.

Registration must be completed by 20 May.
