The Nublu Orchestra is led by Butch Morris, who is known for his method of composing in real time through a system of signals of his invention that allows him to organize a vocabulary of sound and rhythm coaxed extemporaneously from an orchestra into coherent compositions as they are imparted. The Nublu Orchestra's music is an amalgamation of sounds from free jazz to techno just as the club and label's sound as a whole is the same.
