Features at a Glance: 3-D Pop-up Archery Practice and Tournament: The 3D Pop-Up Bowhunters Challenge is a simulated bowhunting environment for archers of all skill levels. It's a great way to learn while testing your bowhunting skills and equipment. Rattlesnake Roundup: Rattlesnake roundup brings the outdoors indoors with the creation of a man-made desert where reptile expert Larry Battson will educate attendees on some of Mother Natures deadliest inhabitants. This program has been acclaimed by zoologists and naturalists nation wide. This is the ultimate in family entertainment and a fantastic educational experience. Larry Battson has worked with Animal Planet and Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom", and has been doing educational programs for 30 years. Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Display: This historic exhibit, located near the Trout Pond in Lobby D, features a variety of unique fishing memorabilia including: antique lures, rods and reels, vintage outboard motors, and the world record muskie mount caught in Lake Chippewa Flowage, Wis., by Louis Spray in 1949. Making its first appearance away from the museum, this remarkable catch weighs nearly 70 pounds and measures approximately 64 inches in length, making it the worlds largest recorded muskie catch in the history of sportfishing. The Crocs Test Drive: Dont miss this chance to wear, or test drive, a pair of Crocs during your visit to the show. Once you realize why Crocs are the hottest thing around in casual footwear, youll have the option to purchase the pair worn during the show or return them for an online coupon. U.S. Passport Fair: Planning a trip to Canada or an exotic hunt in a faraway place? Make sure you have your U.S. Passport! To make the passport application process more convenient, Hennepin County Service Centers will offer a special Passport Fair at the 76th Northwest Sportshow located in Lobby C. Their hours of operation will be Friday, 3 pm - 8 pm, You may save time by having the application form filled out before coming to the Sportshow. What you need: Original certified Birth Certificate or original naturalization papers. Two (2) passport pictures (or take pictures at the show for $14.47). State issued drivers license.State issued identification cards can be accepted (additional documentation and/or identifying witness strongly recommended) We accept two forms of payment. Willow Creek Trout Pond: Kids can fish for live trout at the pond located in Lobby D. Keepem or releaseem! Wood Duck House Building: This is a youth project sponsored by the Minnesota Waterfowl Association (MWA), where youth will be able to build their own wood duck houses with the help of MWA volunteers and take them home. These wood duck houses provide nesting opportunities for female wood duck's that are highly effective. The MWA will be showing video's and will have handout's for the "Best Practices" for these important nesting structures. (while supplies last) Licenses by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources: The Minnesota DNR booth in Lobby D is your one-stop shopping area for all the licenses youll need to be outdoors this summer. Hunter's Laser Shot Gallery: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Firearms Safety Program will have Free laser hunting games to teach children both the fun and importance of safety in hunting.
