Northeast Green Building Conference 2009 April 23, 2009

The United States Green Building Council New York Upstate Chapter (USGBC NYUC), the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS) and U.W. Marx Construction Company are pleased to announce their collaborative effort to bring the Northeast Green Building Conference 2009 to Albany, NY. The event is planned for April 23rd and April 24th, 2009. The goal of the event is to bring together all the major stakeholders in the construction-related industries for education and training, and to create an environment for furthering the understanding of green building and sustainability, and their impact on our region, our nation and the world.

New York State First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson is scheduled to provide the keynote address for the conference, focusing on the Greening the Executive Mansion initiative, and the importance of healthy buildings and environments in the lives of all New Yorkers. New York State has positioned itself in a leadership role in the United States by being the first state to register for LEED Certification for the residence of the states chief executive, an important step in moving New York State towards a sustainable future.
