North Staffordshire Armed Forces & Veterans Day Celebration July 1, 2012

This is a free of charge event taking place in a large open park. A drumhead service will follow a parade of standards, veterans, serving personnel, cadets, youth organisations and schools. There are numerous stands promoting the various aspects of service life today and days gone by. A lone piper, musical entertainment, military vehicles of yesteryear, a diorama of a Normandy D Day cottage used as a casualty collecting station. Local school children are encouraged to wear with pride medals of family members. Last year approx. 4,000 people attended.
