North Mississippi Allstars, a southern rock and blues band, was founded in 1996 in Hernando, MS, by brothers Luther (guitar and vocals) and Cody (drums, keyboards and electric washboard) Dickinson along with Chris Chew (electric bass guitar). Duwayne Burnside and his father R.L Burnside have played on some of the band's tracks and the group first came to prominence when they won a Blues Music Award for "Best New Artist Debut" in 2001.
