NORTH ATLANTIC OSCILLATION
Edinburgh-based trio launch their debut album, ‘Grappling Hooks’, which is out today (March 22) on Kscope. Hard to categorise, they mix a whole host of influences, from Pink Floyd prog and Beta Band-style psychedelia to ‘So’-era Peter Gabriel, but always underpinned with skewed electronica in the style of Boards Of Canada or Squarepusher.

KYTE
It’s nearly three years since Sonic Cathedral released the debut single for the then teenage Kyte and, oh my, haven’t they grown. They are gearing up to release their debut album proper, the stunning ‘Dead Waves’ (out on April 19 on Kids), a mature-sounding exploration of electronic soundscapes and deep, dark lyrics.

SENNEN
It’s also album launch time for Sennen. The Norwich nu-gazers are about to unleash ‘Age Of Denial’ (out April 5 on Hungry Audio), a harmony-heavy slice of classic indie that somehow finds the middle ground between ‘Daydream Nation’, ‘Bandwagonesque’ and ‘Technique’ which, in our books, is some good middle ground to find.
