Guest Speaker for the October Meeting: Allen Fahden

Will You Waste Months Writing the Wrong Book?

The average book sells 100 copies. This could get you halfway to becoming a thousandaire. There's nothing worse that disciplining yourself to write 60,000 words, only to find out later that 55,000 of them are off target.

"Write the Right Book" by Allen Fahden, the Book Righter.

Do your marketing first. Find the unmet need in your potential readership before you start writing. Is your book meeting a need driven by emotion? Research shows that emotions, not logic, drive behavior. Is it different? Most authors realize too late that their book has already been written. Do the title and cover grab you? How to think of killer titles and standout graphics.

Allen Fahden's first book was covered by ABC News and People Magazine, even though it was self published. How can you stand out in the increasingly crowded book market? Come to October's Nonfiction Authors' Meetup to find your answers.

Come to this event prepared to share details about what you are writing and bring along any questions related to publishing nonfiction books.
