In collaboration with the Leeway Foundation and Scribe Video Center, the Bride presents the Philadelphia premiere of NO!, Aishah Shahidah Simmons’ groundbreaking documentary. Through intimate testimonies from victim/survivors and commentaries from acclaimed African-American scholars and community leaders, including Johnnetta B. Cole and Elaine Brown, NO! unveils the reality of rape and other forms of sexual violence in African-American communities. Exploring how the collective silence around these acts adversely affects African-Americans, NO! encourages dialogue to bring about healing and reconciliation between men and women.
