Pockets
9th, 10th & 11th February 2006

Four is pleased to present Pockets, a 3 night performance by Nina Hynes. For the audience, the whole performance will be on headphones along with being blindfolded and led to the gallery for the performance where an atmosphere will await them.

Hynes' performance will include songs employing piano/synths/& beats as well as incorporating live-layering from guests collaborators which may include cello, keyboards and vocals. Her music varies from instrumental to electro rock, experimental electronic to acoustic. The songs are written on guitar, piano, harp and the computer while her performance will make use of sampling with guitar pedals, spoons and whatever is at hand.

Nina wrote her first song at the age of eight using collected tapes of bleeps from the heart machines in the hospital where her auntie worked. Since then, she has performed on over twenty compilations and releases and has collaborated with many people including the experimental French composer Hector Zazou and Brian Eno collaborator, Harold Budd. Nina has released two critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively in the US and Europe. She is currently working on two albums and at college studying sound engineering and music technology.
