A Night of Light 2006

When: Friday, November 17, 2006, 7:00 p.m.

What: A Night of Light, an awards dinner to honor and celebrate excellence in nonprofit management benefiting the Center for Nonprofit Management.
• Awards of Excellence Presentation – The Awards of Excellence are designed to acknowledge the outstanding contributions the nonprofit sector makes to our community with $5,000 cash awards given to nonprofit organizations and individuals for excellence in nonprofit management. Awards are presented in six categories:

o Excellence in Mission Achievement
o Excellence in Communications in Honor of Robert Miller
o Excellence in Board Governance
o Innovation in Action
o Social Entrepreneur of the Year
o Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership

Winners will receive $5,000 unrestricted cash. All awards finalists will be announced and recognized prior to the event with winners announced at the A Night of Light event.

• Honorary Chair: Bobby B. Lyle. Event Chair: Michelle R. Thomas, Vice President of Dallas Corporate Philanthropy at Chase; and Awards of Excellence Panel Chair: Phyllis Bernstein.

Who: The dinner benefits the Center for Nonprofit Management. Founded in 1980, the Center serves more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations annually and works to build a stronger community by increasing the performance and impact of nonprofit organizations. Background: The A Night of Light event was created in 2001 to recognize and celebrate nonprofit excellence in North Texas. Now in its sixth year, the event has awarded 25 agencies and individuals with $5,000 cash Awards.

Tickets: Tables of ten: start at $2,500 and go up to $20,000 for Award sponsorship
Individual tickets: $250
