Nicki Minaj, a Trinidadian-born female rapper hailing from Queens, NY, has surpassed Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah to become the top-selling female rapper of all time. Signed to Young Money Entertainment by Lil' Wayne, she made her mark through guest appearances and numerous mixtapes but has since gone on to become a Billboard chart-topping artist. Known for wearing outlandish costumes and wigs and singing as various alter egos, Minaj, whose hits include 'Your Love,' 'Super Bass,' and 'Starships,' has been called "the black Lady Gaga" and famously made an appearance alongside Madonna during the most recent Super Bowl halftime show.
