In this adaptation of author Barbara Ehrenreich's book, Ehrenreich sets out to answer the question, 'How do you survive on $6 an hour?' She presents herself as an unskilled homemaker needing to earn a living after a divorce. Working minimum wage jobs as a waitress, a cleaning woman and a discount store clerk, Ehrenreich writes a riveting account of the flip side of American prosperity. This arresting, soul-searching and often hilarious adaptation is by Joan Holden of the Tony Award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe.
