Thousands of Jewish men from every continent leave their families and undertake a long, difficult annual pilgrimage to Uman, a small town in the Ukrainian, to celebrate the Jewish New Year, or Rosh Hashanah. Photographer, Ahron D. Weiner, joined the pilgrimage in 2004 and returned for the next five years to document this incredible, spiritual event. The Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art presents his photographic exploration.
