Next - Play. This short 42 minute award winning play written by Terrence McNally (best known for his Broadway musical & Oscar nominated film "Kiss of the Spider Woman") is set at the height of the Vietnam Draft. It has been viewed as a strong antiwar play using comedy to highlight the issue. The play is about Marion Cheever, an over 40 neurotic theater manager who gets called up by the US Army Draft Board for his medicals which is conducted by a butch female sergeant. Trying every means to fail his medicals, Cheever takes the audience on a roller coaster laughter ride. The play has Michael Muthu & Indrani Krishnaer in it who are two of Chennai's most versatile actors last seen by Bangalore audiences in 'Midnight Hotel'. This is followed with a stand up comedy act by Mithran Devanesen.
