Edge Hill University has an enviable reputation for the delivery of outstanding initial teacher training. This experience has contributed to the design of a new programme to support the development of outstanding newly qualified teachers.

A vital strand in this programme is the NQT Conference which is aimed at teachers currently completing their NQT year in Early Years, Primary or Secondary age ranges. The conference will provide a range of workshops delivered by experts in their field in areas relevant to the teacher in the first year of teaching. The conference will also provide opportunities to network with NQTs from across the region. Participating in the workshops will be teachers who have recently been successful in completing the NQT year and academic staff from the Faculty of Education.

Workshops will be available for QTS graduate seeking their first teaching post. An exhibitor's area will include educational suppliers, book sellers, careers guidance, supply agencies and teacher unions. The conference will include the launch of online resources and an online NQT community which is available to all NQTs participating in the NQT programme.

During the conference delegates will also recieve details of Masters level credits through the Edge Hill University NQT programme.

The conference is free to Edge Hill University ITT graduates. The cost to delegates who have graduated from other institutions will be £150.

More information about the conference is available here: http://www.edgehill.ac.uk/education/newly-qualified-teachers/
