Join us on a journey to the capital of North American birding, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology! From Massachusetts, we'll head west to the beautiful Finger Lakes of New York State. Stops at Skaneateles Lake and Cayuga Lake will allow us to scan for a great diversity of migrating waterfowl. As our trip highlight, we'll explore the world-famous Sapsucker Woods and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where our group will take a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the visitor center. Great photo opportunities will be had as we stop at the breathtaking Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls state parks. As a wrap up to our fun-filled weekend, we'll awaken early on Sunday for an extended look at the beauty of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge and the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area. Montezuma highlights from last year's trip included several sandhill cranes, trumpeter and tundra swans, canvasbacks, redheads, pied-billed grebes, and more than a thousand snow geese! Registration is required. Call (781) 837-9400 for details. See http://www.massaudubon.org/catalog/listing.php?program_code=1084-SS11FA1 for more information.
