Santos' Party House (100 Lafayette, Chinatown), 11pm – 4am, $10 ($5 w/RSVP): New York Night Train celebrates 3 years in business with the man who helped start it all, Gun Club/Cramps/Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds guitarist Kid Congo Powers, debuting his rocking collaboration with the legendary Howie Pyro (Danzig, De-Generatin, etc.), Congo Pyro Au Go Go. Thee James Chance himself (The Contortions, James White and the Blacks, etc.) who single-handedly founded the No Wave and Dance Punk musical genres, and is a popular subject in recent cinema and literature, will not only lay down the heavy sax skronk and funky dances, but also select funky get-down music for your dancing pleasure. Five Dollar Priest, a new super-group featuring members of Swans, Sonic Youth, Pussy Galore, Speedball Baby, and Heroine Sheiks, tear into it at 11pm sharp. Also, just added, the lovely and talented Hula Hoop Harlot Melissa Anne wows the audience with her extraordinary act - chock full o' both charming showmanship and breathtaking feats! And, as always, New York Night Train's own Mr Jonathan Toubin brings the 45 rpm goods, Spencer Bewley projects live visuals from dualing 16mm projectors, and more.
