The Spurs are coming off somewhat of a close shave when they held off the Bucks in a 117-110 win last night. Tim Duncan led the team with a game-high 28 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, Tony Parker had 23 points and 11 assists, and Manu Ginobili had 16 points and six assists. With last night's win, the Spurs have won seven straight after going through a rough patch where they lost four of five. On a side note, Gary Neal returned to the lineup after missing four games with a calf injury but played just 13 minutes as coach Popovich eases him back into the rotation.

On the other hand, we have the Knicks who have lost five of their last eight after winning nine of 10. One person you can't blame is Carmelo Anthony who had a season-high 45 points in the 105-100 loss against the Blazers on New Year's Day. JR Smith had 28 points and 11 rebounds, so I guess you can't blame him either, because the real problem was that the Knicks' defense, which couldn't contain Nicolas Batum or JJ Hickson early in the game which led to 58 first-half points. On a side note, Amar'e Stoudemire returned to action to a warm standing ovation but was clearly rusty.

The Knicks and the Spurs have already met once this season, which was a 104-100 victory for the Knicks despite a season-low nine points from Anthony.

In ATS trends, the home team is 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings, while the total has gone over in five of the last six meetings in New York.

This is sure to be one cracker of a game, but picking a winner is basically anyone's guess. On the one hand, you have the Knicks who will be eager to avoid a third straight loss and are 12-3 at home so far. On the other hand, you have the red-hot Spurs who have won seven straight, but will be playing their second game of a back to back set. Playing at home I want to take the Knicks tonight, but I can't ignore how good the Spurs have been playing so I'm going with the hot team in this one.
