We will depart Massachusetts, stopping for lunch in Albany before visiting the head of Skaneateles Lake. We'll go directly for Cayuga Lake, birding the eastern shore and then to Ithaca. We'll explore Sapsucker Woods and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where we'll tour the visitors center, head west to Buttermilk Falls State Park, and up the western shore of Cayuga Lake. On the way north to Seneca Falls, we will visit Taughannock Falls State Park and Cayuga Lake State Park. We'll awaken early for an extended look at the beauty of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Birds seen on our last fall visit included pied-billed grebes, tundra swans, snow geese, American coots, canvasbacks, northern pintails, northern shovelers, and bald eagles. Registration is required.
