Some Place in New York
New York City, New York

New York Cares is looking for 7,000 volunteers to revitalize more than 100 public schools across the five boroughs. Volunteers will paint murals and classrooms, reorganize libraries and store rooms, fix up gardens and playgrounds and more, to give NYC students and teachers brighter, cleaner places to learn.

New Yorkers can register to volunteer at newyorkcaresday.org from now until October 14th.

New York Cares Day, in its 20th year, is an annual citywide volunteer day run by New York Cares, the city’s largest volunteer organization, in partnership with the NYC Department of Education. It is also one of New York Cares’ most important fundraising events. Like a walk-a-thon, participants fundraise in honor of the time they spend volunteering. Money raised supports New York Cares’ year-round volunteer programs that help people in need.

Visit newyorkcaresday.org for complete details and fundraising information. There is a $20 registration fee per volunteer, and the event is open to volunteers ages 12 and up (volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
