Second Avenue has not been the same since adding the newest addition, Mantra 986. Mantra 986's popularity has been growing steadily. With tons of press, fabulous food reviews, the patrons as well as the "Celebs" are flocking in at night.

Mantra 986 mixes the neoclassical style of the 40's and 50's with traditional Asian references and textures. Venus De Milo hand screened wallpapers contrast the bamboo lacquered walls. Antique limed wood paneling features period Asian light fixtures. The bar shelving is a familiar Chinese key pattern accented by Murano glass sailed fishing boats. The eclectic environment makes for a warm disarming setting. The food follows the same rule of thumb. Asian dishes that are distinctly American, like Maryland lump crab toast instead of shrimp toast served with a ginger tarter sauce. Asian style ribs with a southern prepared Bok Choy; onions and pancetta with a papaya coleslaw. Whether or not the dish is American with Asian products, or vice versa, the concept is unique and delicious. The price range is all below twenty dollars and Mantra 986 serves dinner along with offering a VIP lounge, two long bars, plush couches, and private rooms for special events. This venue also has four large flat screen TV's so that you can watch the ball drop live from Times Square. This is the perfect location to Ring in the New Year!!

- Thai Chicken Skewers, Organic Grilled Chicken Cooked to perfection speared with a wooden chop stick served with Mantra's homemade Spicy Peanut sauce
