This is a very chill bar/lounge, which offers live music and awesome DJs. Cradled deep in the heart of Loisaida at Avenue C (between 4th and 5th) with nothing more than a tiny one hundred watt blue light bulb to let you know you have indeed arrived, is nublu, a club that opened its doors some two years ago. A performance space owned and operated by tenor saxophonist and composer Ilhan Ersahin, it boasts the easy informality allowed by Ersahin’s familiarity with music and musicians, an informality that foregoes even a stage--placing patron and performer on an equal footing, recalling the loft venues of the Lower East Side of the 1960’s and 70’s.
