Since its Santa Cruz based inception in 2009, New World Ape has created a sound and musical statement that is exciting, powerful, and uniquely their own. Led by pianist/keyboardist/composer Michael Glick, this 8-piece band features purely original music propelled by its hard hitting rhythm section, its orchestrally arranged 3-piece horn section, and its dense guitar and keyboard textures. The band achieves an overall sound that combines elements of afro, latin, funk and rock, creating a musical experience that not only succeeds in moving your body, but that also succeeds in moving your soul. The music is consistently hard driving, danceable, energetic, emotional, and most of all, uplifting.

Osseynou is a prominent figure in the west african music scene in the bay area and has performed at great venues such as the Point Richmond Summer Music Concert Series, CA,Berkeley World Music Festival, CA,Reggae on the River, CA World Arts West: People Like Me, CA, Globalquerque, NM, Summerfest, NM and Santa Fe International Folk Art Market.
