"New Works By Murray Mednick" March 19, 2009

In a tribute to legendary Los Angeles playwright Murray Mednick, Padua Playwrights presents three full-length world premieres of his work in repertory. The common thread between "Clown Show for Bruno," "The Destruction of the Fourth World," and a new film adaptation by Padua Lab of Mednick's play "Girl on a Bed," is Mednick's signature lyricism which he combines with vaudevillian wordplay to examine the relationship between the creative and destructive aspects of human existence.

"New Works by Murray Mednick" runs March 26 through April 19. "The Destruction of the Fourth World" previews March 19, 20 and 21 and opens on Thursday, March 26, with performances Thursdays at 8 pm; Fridays at 8 pm except March 27; Saturdays at 5 pm; and one Sunday performance at 8 pm on March 29. "Clown Show for Bruno" previews March 21 and 22 and opens on Friday, March 27 with one Friday performance at 8 pm (Opening Night, March 27) and remaining performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm, except Sunday, March 29. "Girl on a Bed and Other Films" opens Saturday, March 28 and screens every Saturday night at 10 pm.
