Dutta''s work is reminiscent of Fauvist sensibilities, deriving its primary impact and emotional expression from intense color. Dutta has designed the sets for Padatik plays like Kanyadan, Pratibimb. Further along the way, she started interacting with the block printers of Sreerampore and Madhubani Artist and it is from them her love for intense primary colors developed.
