New West Presents: A Night of Music at Molly Malone's June 9, 2009

A collaborative night of original music by four artists on the rise in Los Angeles:

New West-Based in Los Angeles, New West, featuring Perry Smith, John Storie and Brady Cohan, has gained recognition as one of today's premier guitar ensembles. Their original music combines the foundation of jazz with elements of blues, rock and folk.www.myspace.com/newwestguitar

Paris Carney: Born in NYC, but raised on both the East and Left Coasts, Paris comes from a family of musicians and took a leave of absence from The New School to spend a couple of years on the road and recording an album under the Interscope label with her big brothers band, formerly Reeve Carney and The Revolving Band, now CARNEY. Her own songwriting skills eventually caused Paris to let the air out of the "oohs and ahhs" and front her own band. Now, with a guitar endorsement from Daisy Rock. (whom she met at the last NAMM show), Paris can be heard all over Los Angeles either with her own band--singing jazz standards at Teddy's on a Thursday night, or singing and recording backup for various artists. Ryan Lerman: Self-described as sounding like "a deep blue mixed with maroon and a hint of bacon", Leman's music is filled with warm acoustic guitar (maybe even a banjo!) with a modern twist to the Folk/Americana label he gives to it. Whisper in the Roar: Founded by recording artist Brian Green, Whisper in the Roar consists of a group of extremely talented music school grads with a long list of television and session credits., Fairly new, this band has been quickly and consistently booked around the Los Angeles area and is gaining a name for itself--without the presence of even a MySpace page yet!
